Research Interests

  • Extracellular electron transport and energy metabolism/conversion mechanisms of environmental microorganisms (Electric cells)

  • Pollutant/waste treatment and resource recovery 

  • Adaptation and evolution of the space environment (biologically driven evolution of the earth and the mechanism of material circulation, biological adaptation and evolution of the space environment, space microbial engineering, etc - Space ‘farming’)

  • Intelligent environmental microbes (advanced biosensing, biological intelligent control and evolution, microbial/human interaction systems, biological intelligent manufacturing and intelligent environmental governance - Microbial ‘nano-robots’)
