On Sep. 16, Prof. Weihong ZHU from East China University of Science and Technology visited Jiangsu University and made a report on ‘Functional Photoelectric Organic Dyes and Their Applications in Energy’. Prof. ZHU presented the strengthening mechanism on the stability of organic dyes, the preparation methods of dyes with high stability, condition optimization of block polymer and silicon-package in details. Teachers and postgraduates from Institute for Energy Research, School of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, and School of Materials Science and Engineering attended the lecture and had a warm discussion with Prof. ZHU.

　　Prof. Weihong ZHU of East China University of Science and Technology is the awardee of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, New Century Excellent Talents of Ministry of Education, Oriental Scholar of Shanghai City, and the winner of 2011 National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation. He has been in charge of or participated in 25 research projects including the National Natural Science Foundation of China and 973 projects. Prof. ZHU has published 158 SCI papers on high-impact journals, such as Chem. Soc. Rev., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem., Energy Environ. Sci., Adv. Energy Mater., Adv. Funct. Mater., which including 21 ESI most cited papers and 6 ESI hot papers. His articles have been cited for more than 4300 times, and the h-index is 41. He has applied for 24 Chinese patents including 18 authorized patents. He was awarded the Second Prize of National Natural Science Award in 2007.
