On October 19th, the ceremony to hire Prof. Tanongkiat Kiatsiriroat of Chiang Mai University as apart-time professor of Jiangsu University and the report was conducted in the third report hall of the conference center. The president Shouqi Yuan together with the principal of Science and Technology Department and Institute for Energy Research attended this ceremony. The teachers and students from Chiang Mai University, Institute for Energy Research of Jiangsu University, the School of Energy and Power Engineering, the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering attended and listened to the report.

　　The president Shouqi Yuan awarded the certificate and school badge to Prof. Tanongkiat Kiatsiriroat. Prof. Tanongkiat Kiatsiriroat gave a report named the development and future of new energy and then he introduced their research characteristic. At the same time, he reviewed the more than twenty years’ cooperation between Chiang Mai University and Jiangsu University, and then made a prospect about the cooperation in the field of new energy between the two universities.
　　Prof. Tanongkiat Kiatsiriroat, a well-known professor who is major in engineering thermal physics and renewable energy, is a main chairman of ERDI-CMU. He also serves as chairman of Institute for Thermal Energy Systems Research and director of National Sustainable Development Research Center in Thailand. He has studied thermal engineering, development and utilization of biomass energy and solar energy for about 40 years, and published more than 450 academic papers. Additionally, he also serve as the vice chief editor of Applied Thermal Engineering, chief editor of Journal of Engineering of Chiang Mai University, international editor of Journal of Irrigation and Drainage Engineering.
