From May 9 to May 11, 2016, Prof. Mao-Zhao XIE from Dalian University of Technology (Dalian, China) visited Institute for Energy Research of Jiangsu University, and gave two lectures on “Numerical Simulation of Turbulent Flow and Combustion Process in Internal Combustion Engine” and “Numerical Simulation of Mass Diffusion and Turbulent Combustion in Porous Medium”.
The latest research results could be divided into four aspects: 1) Large eddy simulation of the turbulent flow in the cylinder of an engine; 2) Application of proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) to the analysis of turbulent characteristics in cylinder; 3) Decoupling method for obtaining skeleton reaction mechanism; 4) Numerical simulation of mass diffusion and turbulent combustion in porous medium.
