From April 20 to 23, the 2024 World Internal Combustion Engine Conference was grandly held in Tianjin. Professor He Zhixia, Dean of the Institute for Energy Research at Jiangsu University, led a delegation to attend the conference. Professor Raul Payri, a part-time professor at the institute, was invited to deliver a keynote speech titled "E-Fuels: Pathways to Meeting the 2030 CO2 Emission Requirements". The conference, themed around "Green, Reliable, Intelligent and Efficient," aimed to "Promote the advancement of low-carbon, zero-carbon, and carbon-neutral fuel engine technologies and facilitate the development of new productive forces for human society." Nearly 40 academicians from China and abroad, along with scientists, entrepreneurs, and technologists from 22 countries, gathered to discuss the future development of internal combustion engines and new power sources under the backdrop of the dual carbon goals.
