Abstract:

Agricultural biomass, such as sugarcane bagasse and rice husk, is a type of abundant, renewable, low-cost bioresource. Prof Zhanying Zhang and his team at the Queensland University of Technology are dedicated to developing biomass processing and biorefinery technologies for converting agricultural biomass into sustainable functional materials. In this presentation, Prof Zhang will summarize their achievements and progress in these areas, focusing on the production of nanocellulose, nanosilica, and hard carbon for various applications.
