On February 24, Professor Zhenhui Kang from Soochow University was invited to deliver an academic lecture entitled "In-situ understanding on C-Dots based photocatalysts" at Lecture Hall 1517 of the Institute for Energy Research . The lecture was hosted by Professor Haitao Li from the Energy Research Institute, with active participation from faculty and students.

During the lecture, Professor Kang systematically elaborated on the fundamental characteristics of carbon dots (C-dots), focusing on their microstructure, chemical composition, and morphological features. He provided an in-depth discussion on their photoelectrochemical properties, offering a detailed analysis of key aspects such as band gap regulation, photogenerated potential, and electron trapping effects. Furthermore, he introduced the application of a series of emerging analytical techniques in C-dots research, including advanced characterization methods like Transient Photocurrent (TPC) and Transient Photovoltage (TPV). Following the presentation, Professor Kang enthusiastically addressed questions from the attending faculty and students, leading to lively discussions. There is strong anticipation for further exchange and collaboration with him in the future.
