On February 26, Dr. Jiang Ying from the Technology Innovation Institute (TII) of the United Arab Emirates was invited to deliver a lecture titled "Enhancing the Scientific Value and Impact of Research Outcomes: A Case Study of Anaerobic Digestion for Biomass Energy Utilization" in the 1517 Lecture Hall of the Energy Research Institute. The lecture was chaired by Professor Yong Yangchun, Vice Dean of the Energy Research Institute, and was actively attended by faculty and students.
During the lecture, Dr. Jiang delved into how to enhance the scientific value and impact of research outcomes through meticulous study and precise goal-setting. Using a project he had previously conducted as an example, he detailed the challenges of treating high-ammonia raw materials in the anaerobic digestion industry. He also shared insights with the attending faculty and students on how to identify opportunities in research projects through scientific exploration and technological innovation, thereby further improving the technical feasibility, reaction kinetics, and environmental impact assessment of the research outcomes. Following the lecture, Dr. Jiang enthusiastically addressed questions from the audience, fostering a lively discussion. There is anticipation for further exchanges and collaboration with our institute in the future.
Dr. Jiang Ying is currently a Chief Researcher at the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Research Center of the Technology Innovation Institute in the UAE. His research focuses on low-carbon fuel production and its environmental impact assessment, with expertise in fundamental reactions during biomass energy conversion. He currently leads TIIs bioenergy research projects, concentrating on enhancing the energy production process from biomass/waste through biochemical and thermochemical conversion pathways. Dr. Jiang has previously held positions at Cranfield University and the University of Southampton and served as the UK Director of the Jiangsu University-Cranfield University Future Technology Graduate Institute.
