From June 13 to 14, the 2025 Academic Annual Conference on "High-Efficiency, Low-Carbon, Clean Combustion" of Internal Combustion Engines, a flagship academic event organized by the Chinese Society for Internal Combustion Engines, was successfully held in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province. The conference was co-hosted by Jiangsu University, the Combustion, Energy Saving, and Purification Branch of the Chinese Society for Internal Combustion Engines, the Plateau Internal Combustion Engines Branch, the Testing Technology Branch, and the Gasoline and Gas Engine Branch.

With the theme of "High Efficiency, Cleanliness, Green, and Intelligence," the conference brought together 13 invited experts and over 290 professional scholars from 130 institutions, including Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Yuchai Machinery, Weichai Power, INNIO Jenbacher (UK), Peking University, and Tianjin University. Attendees jointly explored pathways for the green and low-carbon development of internal combustion engines. Among the distinguished guests were Hua Zhao, Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, and Vice President of Brunel University London; Li Hong, Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Jiangsu University.
The opening ceremony was presided over by the conference chair, Yao Mingfa, Fellow of the Chinese Society for Internal Combustion Engines and Chair Professor of Tianjin University.

At the opening ceremony, Vice President Li Hong delivered a welcome speech on behalf of Jiangsu University. She extended a warm welcome to the attendees and expressed heartfelt gratitude to all sectors of society for their long-term care and support for the university's development. Li Hong emphasized that, against the backdrop of the national "Dual Carbon" strategy, strengthening original innovation and technological advancements in the field of internal combustion engine combustion is an urgent requirement for achieving high-level technological self-reliance and self-improvement in internal combustion engines. Jiangsu University will fully leverage its strengths in the internal combustion engine direction of the Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics discipline to provide robust support for serving the national "Dual Carbon" strategy. She expressed her hope that participants would use this academic annual conference as a platform to further deepen exchanges, broaden horizons, and enhance forward-thinking and strategic planning for the future development of "low-carbon and zero-carbon" power technologies. She called on everyone to seize the critical window for the green and low-carbon transition of energy, build consensus, deepen cooperation, and foster more innovative outcomes, collectively injecting new momentum, contributing new wisdom, and writing new chapters for the comprehensive green transformation of the economy and society.

The annual conference featured 13 high-level plenary reports by 13 experts, including the academic team of Huang Zhen, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University; Hua Zhao, Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Professor Yao Mingfa of Tianjin University; Lin Tiejian, Chief Engineer of Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd.; Dr. Hedin Günther of INNIO Jenbacher; the team of Li Zhijie, Dean of the Engine Research Institute of Weichai Power; Chen Zhi, Researcher at Peking University; Professor He Zhixia of Jiangsu University; and Li Zhipeng, Researcher at China North Engine Research Institute. These reports sparked lively discussions among the participants.
