On June 10, Professor Keiya Nishida from Hiroshima University, Japan, was invited to deliver an academic lecture titled "Microscopic Imaging of Spray Droplet Distribution" in Lecture Hall 1517 of the Energy Research Institute. The lecture was chaired by Professor He Zhixia, Dean of the Institute. Faculty and students from the Energy Research Institute, the School of Energy and Power Engineering, and the School of Automotive and Traffic Engineering attended the lecture.

In his presentation, Professor Keiya Nishida discussed various measurement methods for spray droplet distribution. He introduced the fundamental principles, assumptions, advantages and disadvantages, main application scenarios, and current technological developments of these testing methods. The lecture provided a detailed explanation of droplet size distribution measurement methods based on microscopic imaging and image processing, and shared the diesel spray droplet distribution test results from Hiroshima University. After the presentation, Professor Nishida engaged in a lively discussion with the attending faculty and students, addressing their questions in detail.

Keiya Nishida, Ph.D., is a professor in the Graduate School of Advanced Science and Engineering at Hiroshima University, Japan. He previously worked as an internal combustion engine R&D engineer at Kubota Corporation and served as a visiting scholar at the University of Michigan, a guest professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and a "High-End Foreign Expert" at Dalian University of Technology. He has published over 190 journal papers, 130 international conference papers, 6 review articles, and authored 3 books. He has held positions such as President of the ILASS-Japan Society, Chair of the JSAE Diesel Engine Committee, Chair of the JSME Research Committee on Advanced Combustion Systems for Diesel Engines, and Chair of the JSME Engine Systems Division.
