On November 6, at the academic salon activity of the Institute for Energy Research (IFER), Dr. Li Guochun in our institute made a report and summarized the research work in recent years, the relevant teachers of IFER listened to the report.

At the report meeting, Dr. Li Guochun introduced the principles, advantages and disadvantages of lithium sulfur battery and lithium sulfur flow battery, as well as their research status respectively, centering on the two research directions of "high energy energy lithium sulfur battery and lithium sulfur flow battery". The previous part of the report detailed the research in the field of lithium sulfur battery in recent years, including the structural design of lithium sulfur battery cathode materials, preparation of carbon-based hosts, optimization of organic electrolyte composition and modification of hydrophilic seperator. In the latter part of the report, the lithium sulfur flow battery system was also discussed, and a new type of lithium sulfur flow battery based on redox-targeting mechanism was designed and assembled. After the presentation, a heated discussion was continued with the present teachers.

Dr. Li Guochun, Associate professor, master supervisor. In June 2013, he graduated from the school of chemistry of Nankai university and obtained his doctor of science degree. From January 2016 to August 2017, he was engaged in postdoctoral research in the department of chemical and biomolecular engineering of the National University of Singapore. In recent years, He has been mainly engaged in scientific research related to new energy materials and chemical power sources. He has published more than 20 research papers in related fields (including Advanced Energy Materials, Journal of Power Sources, Journal of Materials Chemistry, Journal of Alloys and Compounds, etc.). The papers have been cited more than 1,000 times by SCI source journals, and 2 papers have been selected as ESI highly cited papers. He has presided over the completion of the youth fund of the national natural science foundation of China and the youth fund of the natural science foundation of Jiangsu province, He is nowpresiding the fund of senior talents project of Jiangsu University and the cultivation fund of "young talents cultivation plan" of Jiangsu University.
