Profile:
Prof. Dominique Thévenin obtained a PhD from the Ecole Centrale in Paris in 1992. He was later appointed there as a Professor of Gas Dynamics before becoming a full Professor of Fluid Dynamics at the OVGU Magdeburg in 2002. Since then, his group has concentrated on four main research topics by combining numerical investigations, experimental studies, and optimization methods: 1) multiphase reactors and processes; 2) fundamental turbulence and combustion research; 3) modeling of medical flows; and 4) turbomachines and their environmental impact. Professor Dominique Thevenin has published more than 150 SCI papers in high-impact journals such as Progress in Energy and Combustion Science, Combustion and Flame, and Proceedings of the Combustion Institute. His works have been cited more than 12,000 times on Google Scholar, with an h-index of 51. He was selected as Dean of the Faculty of Process Engineering from 2016 to 2022. He is now the speaker of the large German Collaborative Research Center BULK-REACTION, dealing with high-temperature particulate processes. He will share the recent research activities in his group.
